Kolkata was hot (around 100 degrees) and so humid (80-90% humidity) that our clothes were soaking wet after 30 minutes of walking around. Still we walked a great deal and then retreated to our historic (pleasant but unchanged since the 40s I'd guess) hotel lobby where we'd sit under the ceiling fans and attempt to recover for another venture out. Kolkata was wonderful - except for the weather. Unfortunately it's hard to ignore the weather.
